Hummingbird Clearwing Moths

Happy 4th of July everyone. In the meantime, I stumbled upon these unique creatures. Hummingbird Clearwing Moths are named such because by the way they fly, hover, and move resembles a lot like hummingbirds. They are in fact moths, and perhaps one of the most beautiful insects depending on how you perceive their looks.

They are rare to see and among the most difficult airborne insects to photograph. They move quick and change position so frequently. When hunting for these creatures, your skills in focusing, exposure, anticipation, and shooting macro subjects in general will be tested to the fullest.
