Falls Creek Falls State Park - Tennessee

I had a weekend stay over in Tennessee. Since I love scenic beauty anywhere, I was eager to explore Falls Creek Falls State Park. This park hosts America's tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi. Though not a very large waterfall by nature, the 256 ft (78 m) drop is quite awe inspiring.

When you reach the bottom, you will notice that the falls serve as a perfect bathing spot for visitors.

There are rocky trails you must go through in order to get to the base of the falls. To keep your balance, you may find it comfortable to reach out and grab on to anything for support. Be careful where you put your hands however as I encountered several of these spiders located where you might put your hands!

You don't necessarily have to go to the Grand Canyon or the American West to stand by the mountains and feel so small in front of the glorious American landscape. The Appalachian Mountains of the east can give you the same feeling; just at a smaller scale.
